QUT Security operates across all campuses 24/7 to deliver the following services:
- Counter disaster / emergency planning and coordination.
- Emergency first response, medical, fire, crisis etc.
- Protection of members of the University community including:
- Personal escorts on campus 24 hours a day.
- Work place safety hazard identification, containment redressing and or reporting.
- Providing victim support.
- Protection of University buildings and assets including:
- Workplace security audits.
- Controlling after hours building access.
- Small fire investigation, operating building fire panels.
- On campus loss/theft investigations.
- Staff and student security and emergency procedures training.
- Manual keying and electronic access control.
- Electronic alarm management and CCTV surveillance.
- VIP and special event security coordination.
- Internal investigations.
- In partnership with others, provide input into IT security advice.
- Provide security consultancy to the University and external project managers.
- Crime intelligence gathering and reporting.
- Crime prevention / security advice to the University community.
- Enforcing the by-laws, statutes, regulations and Queensland University of Technology Act 1998 in the pursuit of good order and conduct on campus.
