Significant Events for August 2008

  • Security was called to a violent altercation in the Red Lab at Carseldine between two male students. Initially, both accused each other of assault but on consideration, agreed not to pursue the matter and peacefully left the campus.
  • Security attended a fire alarm in a student common room in D Block, Gardens Point. An investigation by the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service revealed that dried peas, possibly sprayed with an adhesive substance as an accelerant, had ignited in the microwave. Police are investigating this matter as arson.
  • A staff member advised Security of the presence of a male person in a female toilet on Kelvin Grove campus.   Security attended and apprehended the male who admitted he was there with the intention of illicitly observing females. His phone - camera was secured, the police were advised and the male left the campus in their company. 
  • Security staff challenged approximately 145 people at Gardens Point campus during the Riverfire, fireworks. These people were attempting to get onto the rooftops of buildings and were all escorted peacefully from the campus.
  • Carseldine campus was the target of a number of juvenile offenders. There were reports of graffiti, windows smashed and two cars damaged.  These matters were referred to the police and nearby schools.
  • A Student Guild sponsored “National Day of Action” was held at Kelvin Grove campus to highlight student poverty. The event was peaceful and well managed with approximately 200 students attending the event.
  • 4 vagrants, 8 rollerbladers, 97 skateboarders and 131 bicycle riders were escorted from campus, some under police caution.

Significant Events for July 2008

  • Eleven incidents of graffiti bearing the same tag were discovered at Kelvin Grove campus.  Police are investigating.
  • A student at Gardens Point campus reported receiving threats from a known associate.  She was advised to report the matter to Police.
  • Students entering a shared room at Gardens Point campus were startled to discover a naked male.  The matter was not reported for some time and the students were urged to report to Security immediately if the offender was spotted again.
  • Security assisted police with enquiries into the whereabouts of a student who had been a reported as a missing person. The student was located safe and well.
  • 8 vagrants, 15 rollerbladers, 129 skateboarders and 192 bicycle riders were escorted from campus, some under police caution.

Significant Events for June 2008

  • During evening hours staff and students were interrupted whilst rehearsing on the parade ground outside Z2 at Kelvin Grove by an aggressive, abusive male. He complained that the noise was disturbing him and before leaving, threatened violence if it did not stop. The following day the hostile male attended the Campus Services Counter at Y1 Block and complained about this incident in similar terms.  Matter reported to Brisbane Housing.
  • Two students in Kelvin Grove State High School uniform were seen by a QUT staff member breaking into a vending machine at R Block on Kelvin Grove campus.  The offenders fled on being seen. Police and Vending Solutions attended and found 4 damaged vending machines with goods stolen. Loss was valued at $2000. 
  • In the small hours of the morning Security became aware of a loud domestic dispute between a female staff member and her male companion at B Block Gardens Point. Her office had been trashed and the woman was suffering from minor injuries. Police attended and the abusive male left campus under direction while the female was transported to the Royal Brisbane Hospital by the police. Matter reported to the faculty.
  • Six bicycles were stolen from Gardens Point campus. Security staff apprehended an offender in the process of stealing a seventh. The bicycle was recovered and the offender left campus in company with the police. None of the bicycles involved were secured with D Clamps.
  • A QUT sign was vandalised at Carseldine campus.  Police are investigating.
  • 9 vagrants, 26 rollerbladers, 136 skateboarders and 208 bicycle riders were escorted from campus, some under police caution.

Significant Events for May 2008

  • A student at Gardens Point campus was assaulted by his flat mate on campus due to an off campus dispute.  The matter was referred to the police.
  • A male student was approached by six youths and was the victim of an attempted robbery whilst walking through the Botanical Gardens. The student ran to Main Drive and contacted Security.  The matter was referred to the police.
  • A student at Kelvin Grove campus reported receiving a text message that contained violent threats on her mobile phone. The matter was referred to the police.
  • At Gardens Point campus a cleaner refused an access request from an unknown male who subsequently subjected her to harassment. The offender fled prior to the arrival of Security.
  • Three Faculty of Business staff at Gardens Point were recipients of harassing emails from a student. Matter referred to the Faculty.
  • In three separate incidents, three unsecured laptops, the property of QUT, were reported stolen at Gardens Point campus. Each incident was referred to the police.
  • 15 vagrants, 6 rollerbladers, 146 skateboarders and 192 bicycle riders were escorted from campus, some under police caution

Significant Events for April 2008

  • A student threatened to kill two fellow students at Caboolture campus. Security maintained an augmented presence on campus to reassure students and staff. Matter reported to the police.
  • A former student intimidated staff and threatened to blow up a building at Gardens Point Campus. Matter reported to the police.
  • Two staff members, one at Carseldine and one at Kelvin Grove were subjected to threats via email.  The victims were advised to contact the police.
  • A student who was involved in a parking rage incident was assaulted off campus at Kelvin Grove. Matter reported to the police.
  • A student was accosted and threatened by two males at a bus stop off campus at Kelvin Grove. Victim did not want police assistance.
  • Concerned staff called Security to attend a disabled toilet at Gardens Point as it had been occupied for over an hour. The user decamped prior to their arrival leaving behind evidence of intravenous drug usage.
  • Security was called to provide first aid to a non university patron of a River Stage rock concert at Gardens Point, who was suffering from substance abuse. This person was taken to hospital by ambulance.
  • Security was called to attend a violent domestic dispute between a non university couple at Kelvin Grove that spilt over into University premises. The male partner left campus in the company of police.
  • An electrical motor burnt out in the air conditioning system in S Block, Kelvin Grove and caused smoke to be pumped throughout the building. The building was evacuated without injury or further incident and the matter resolved.
  • A fault in a heater bank in the plant room at A Block, Carseldine caused smoke to be pumped throughout the building. The building was evacuated without injury or further incident and the matter resolved.
  • An after hours patrol caught four students stealing confectionery from a vending machine at Gardens Point Campus. The vendor did not want police involvement. Matter reported to University authorities.
  • 21 rollerbladers, 96 skateboarders and 189 bicycle riders were escorted from campus, some under police caution.

Significant Events for March 2008

  • A male student sought Security assistance in the Library at Gardens Point campus late one evening.  He stated he had been threatened at knife point in a failed robbery attempt on Main Drive, opposite X Block. Counselling and support were offered to the victim who did not want the police involved.
  • Security were called to the Carseldine Child Care Centre to help Centre staff calm a domestic dispute over the custody of a child.
  • A building services contractor reported that he was verbally abused, threatened and poked in the chest by an unknown male person. The victim did not want the police involved.
  • Staff members of the Student Centre at Gardens Point campus were subjected to verbal abuse by an emotional student.  Security attended and escorted the offending student from the building. Matter referred to the faculty office for resolution.
  • A student who reported that his laptop had been stolen from the Kelvin Grove library assisted security staff identify the thief who was subsequently apprehended. The laptop was recovered and the offender left campus in company with the police.
  • From a distance, a Security Officer observed a male person spray paint the front passenger door of a visitor’s vehicle parked in a Carseldine car park.  The offender decamped on the officer’s approach.  A description of the offender has been provided to the police.
  • A 100ml bottle of chloroform was reported to have been stolen from a fume cupboard at Gardens Point campus.  Police are investigating the loss of this controlled substance.
  • Security were called to remove a derelict park dweller begging for money in X Block Gardens Point.
  • A number of personal items left unattended by students provided an easy target for opportunist thieves at the V Block Library at Gardens Point.
  • A Student Guild sponsored National Day of Action was held on campus to protest Federal education funding. The protest was peaceful and well managed and involved a balloon release as well as a march into the City by 32 attendees.
  • 1 vagrant, 81 skateboarders and 203 bicycle riders were escorted from campus, some under police caution.

Significant Events for February 2008

  • A female student was found unconscious after a fall from a garden onto concrete behind the walkway south of L Block at Gardens Point.  Security provided first aid and arranged for her transportation to hospital by ambulance.
  • A large number of non university youth attending the “Soundwave” all day musical event at the Riverstage at Gardens Point also attended the Campus Club.  Security officers were constantly occupied with crowd control issues and reports of unauthorised activities which included a vending machine being overturned at O Block and a smashed patio table and chair which had been thrown from the balcony at Y Block onto Garden Point Road. Matter reported to the police.
  • An aggressive male who was leaving the scene of a break and enter that he had perpetrated in a private dwelling in Musk Avenue, Kelvin Grove, smashed the window in a parked vehicle then attacked the security patrol vehicle by kicking it several times before running off. Police investigating.
  • A break in at Gardens Point netted the offender two QUT laptop computers. The matter is under police investigation.
  • 4 vagrants, 25 rollerbladers, 134 skateboarders and 216 bicycle riders were escorted from campus, some under police caution.

Significant Events for January 2008

  • During working hours, a female staff member within the Creative Industries Precinct at Kelvin Grove reported that an unknown, older male had touched her inappropriately and made an improper comment to her in her workplace. She did not want police involvement.
  • Late at night, a patrolling security officer located a large group of youths attempting to break into a vending machine at Gardens Point. All fled when challenged. However, the police found10 useable sets of finger prints around the damaged area of the machine.
  • 2 males who were seen carrying wheel braces on Carseldine campus late at night, fled when challenged by a patrolling security officer. Their details were forwarded to the police.
  • A mini skip located on level 1 of C Block was found to be on fire, late at night, by a patrolling security officer. The fire brigade was called to douse the blaze after initial attempts with portable extinguishers failed.
  • There were 3 reported incidents involving a male entering unsecured or unattended offices during working hours at Gardens Point Campus and stealing items of personal and University property from these areas. The police were advised.
  • At Gardens Point campus an electrical short in a switchboard at Z Block caused loss of power to 9 buildings.  All occupants were evacuated until it was confirmed safe to return.
  • 3 vagrants, 11 rollerbladers, 95 skateboarders and 190 bicycle riders were escorted from campus, some under police caution.

Significant Events for December 2007

  • Beadles on the Quad at Kelvin Grove campus was the target of a break and enter incident.  An amount of cash was stolen and police are investigating.
  • Two males attempting to break into a vending machine were startled by a Security Officer at Kelvin Grove campus.  The offenders fled the area.  The machine sustained serious damage and is beyond repair.  Police are investigating.
  • Four valuable pieces of artwork were found to be missing from the Art Museum Collection at Gardens Point campus.  The matter is under investigation.
  • 12 vagrants, 18 rollerbladers, 144 skateboarders and 185 bicycle riders were escorted from campus, some under police caution.

Significant Events for November 2007

  • A non staff or student patient at the Psychology Clinic at Carseldine campus reported to staff that he had overdosed on prescription medicine. Security attended and the patient was transported to hospital via ambulance.
  • Six new low black seats, that were part of a refurbishment on level 4 of S Block Gardens Point, were left unsecured and unattended, and were stolen.  The matter was reported to the police.
  • Two stair well, down lights were damaged at Gardens Point in the early hours of the morning. Three offenders were recorded on a Security camera running from the scene and the police are investigating.
  • Two glass window panes were smashed in the male toilet on level 4 of C Block at Kelvin Grove campus.  The matter has been reported to the police.
  • Two motor vehicles were broken into in the car park at Gona Parade on the Kelvin Grove campus.  The owners were advised to contact the Police.
  • 1 vagrant, 4 rollerbladers, 87 skateboarders and 113 bicycle riders were escorted from campus, some under police caution.

Significant Events for October 2007

  • A member of the public reported that another man had followed him from the swimming pool at Gardens Point campus to the toilet block in the City Gardens, behind X Block where he wilfully exposed himself to the complainant. The police are investigating.
  • A patrolling security officer found a member of the public lying unconscious in the middle of the Ring Road at Kelvin Grove campus at 3 am one morning. An ambulance was called and assessed the man had sustained head injuries from falling to the ground, possibly after suffering some form of fit.  They transported the injured person to hospital.
  • Security assisted a student who had slipped on a wet stage floor that had just been painted at Kelvin Grove campus. He had suffered a broken arm and was transported to hospital by ambulance.
  • Security assisted a woman who suffered a seizure in Parer Place, Kelvin Grove. Upon recovering consciousness she declined further medical assistance.
  • A workman left grinding and cutting equipment unattended when he took a lunch break at Gardens Point campus.  On his return he found that his equipment had been stolen.  He was advised to secure his equipment in future and to report the matter to the police.
  • A quantity of drugs was found on Gardens Point campus after a heavy metal rock extravaganza was held at the River Stage, adjacent to the campus.  The items were handed over to the police.
  • 2 chromers, 33 vagrants, 19 rollerbladers, 153 skateboarders and 187 bicycle riders were escorted from campus, some under police caution.

Significant Events for September 2007

  • During campaigning for the Student Guild Elections, a female student was abused at Kelvin Grove when she declined to accept a flyer promoting a political viewpoint. The male person continued to follow her and shout abuse after her. The matter was reported to the Student Guild Electoral Officer who resolved the matter.    
  • A staff member at Kelvin Grove received a threatening email from the partner of a former colleague but did not want police involvement. The University addressed the matter and Security assisted by addressing personal safety concerns.
  • Security staff were asked to assist a staff member who was worried that her partner may attend her work place on Kelvin Grove campus in breach of a Domestic Violence Order. Security assisted by addressing personal safety concerns.
  • Security staff were called to attend 2 unrelated domestic disputes at Kelvin Grove campus. Both were peacefully resolved and those involved escorted from campus.
  • Security staff escorted approximately 100 people from Gardens Point campus during Riverfire.  Some had climbed up external fire stair wells, some attempted to get onto rooftops and some of these people became aggressive and threatened Security staff when asked to leave. All were escorted peacefully from the campus.
  • Five skateboarding youths threatened a Security officer at Gardens Point campus when requested to leave the campus.  The Police were called and escorted the offenders from campus.
  • Fourteen items of graffiti were located and removed from the Gardens Point campus.
  • A student collapsed during her class at Carseldine campus. Security attended and administered first aid. The student recovered sufficiently well enough to request that she be permitted to continue with the class.
  • 15 vagrants, 17 rollerbladers, 113 skateboarders and 141 bicycle riders were escorted from campus, some under police caution.

Significant Events for August 2007

  • At Carseldine campus a female student was stalked by a former male student who subsequently attempted to push his way into her vehicle. She managed to escape his unwanted attention and reported the matter to Security and the Police.  Counselling was offered to the victim.
  • A female student reported to Security and the Police that she had been stalked by a man while walking from the Royal Brisbane Hospital to the Kelvin Grove campus.  Security was able to identify the person and his details were passed to the police. The offender was apprehended and counselling has been offered to the victim.
  • A member of Carseldine staff reported his number plate had been stolen from his vehicle while parked on campus.  He was advised by police that a car displaying his number plate had been used in the commission of a crime.
  • A male student at Gardens Point campus observed his motorcycle being ridden away from where he had parked it. The student pursued the male offender and was able to challenge the thief at a set of traffic lights in Alice Street, where a physical altercation ensued.  The motor cycle, damaged in the affray, was recovered and the offender escaped on foot.  The matter is under police investigation.  
  • Queensland Fire and Rescue attended and controlled deliberately lit fires at the Carseldine campus.  The police have been made aware of these acts of arson and are investigating.
  • A crowd of 140 protestors, consisting of approximately 80 people from trade union and other external organisations gathered in the Y Block courtyard on Gardens Point campus for a National Day of Action against various Federal Government policies. The peaceful protest passed without incident.
  • Security staff were called to provide first aid when a Brisbane City Council employee collapsed while at the wheel of a council truck in the Botanical Gardens in front of B Block. An ambulance was called and conveyed the recovering patient to the Royal Brisbane Hospital.
  • Security staff attended a fire alarm in C Block at Gardens Point campus late one evening and discovered 2 staff members engaged in high jinks involving a motorcycle being ridden inside the building. This matter was reported to university authorities. 
  • 12 vagrants, 5 rollerbladers, 83 skateboarders and 108 bicycle riders were escorted from campus, some under police caution.

Significant Events for July 2007

  • An approximate total of 68 protestors attended two protest rallies, one on the University Open Day to protest the restructuring of the School of Humanities and Human Services. Some Security staff attending these events to maintain public order were assaulted and the police made 5 arrests.
  • A scheduled performance at the La Boite Theatre, Kelvin Grove campus, was cancelled due to an electrical fire.  All patrons and staff were safely evacuated without injury.
  • A male person, not associated with the University, apparently under the influence of drugs and alcohol, was involved in a motor vehicle accident when he drove into 2 parked cars at Kelvin Grove campus. He was taken to hospital and subsequently required to assist police with their enquiries regarding various offences.
  • A male student, under the influence of alcohol attempted to gain access to the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation on Kelvin Grove campus after hours.  Security assisted the student to return home without further incident and referred him to counselling and the Director of the Institute.
  • Queensland Fire and Rescue attended and controlled deliberately lit fires at the Carseldine campus.  Queensland Police have been made aware of these acts of arson and are investigating.
  • At Gardens Point campus Security observed a vagrant lighting fires at various locations in the Botanical Gardens.  The matter was reported to the Police.
  • The Access Control Point - Gatehouse at Gardens Point campus was extensively damaged when hit by a passing truck. 
  • 40 vagrants, 10 rollerbladers, 99 skateboarders and 131 bicycle riders were escorted from campus, some under police caution.

Significant Events for June 2007

  • An approximate total of 109 protestors attended 6 protest rallies, smaller speak outs and impromptu silent vigils held at public forums, across the University, during the month. These events were held to protest the proposed restructuring of the School of Humanities and Human Services. Some Security staff, attending these events to maintain public order, were assaulted.
  • On two separate occasions, female students at Carseldine campus complained about being harassed by a male student. The matter is being investigated by Equity and the Registrar’s Office.
  • Four youths were discovered by Security attempting to break into a vending machine at Carseldine campus.  The offenders fled with the officer in pursuit.  Descriptions of the four were relayed to the Police who later apprehended them on Beams Rd. 
  • Three youths were discovered by Security attempting to smash outdoor furniture at A Block undercover area on Carseldine campus. Security pursued the vandals off campus and the matter was reported to the Police.
  • Carseldine grounds staff called for Security assistance when they observed a pregnant woman rapidly exit a vehicle and her subsequent pursuit by the male driver.  The distressed, non-university related woman claimed the driver (her defacto) had assaulted and threatened to kill her.  The Police attended and are dealing with the matter.
  • Examinations in L Block at Gardens Point campus were interrupted when an unknown offender smashed a break glass fire call point causing a building evacuation. The alarm was quickly investigated by Security and the cause of the alarm discovered. This limited any unsettling of the students and disruption to the examinations.
  • An elderly disorientated male wandered onto the Kelvin Grove campus.  With the assistance of Security his identity was confirmed and he was escorted home safely by the Police.
  • 43 vagrants, 4 rollerbladers, 187 skateboarders and 159 bicycle riders were escorted from campus, some under police caution.

Significant Events for May 2007

  • An approximate total of 592 protestors attended 5 large protest rallies and 5 smaller speak outs held at public forums, across the university, during the month. These events were held to protest the proposed restructuring of the School of Humanities and in support of two academic staff involved in the disciplinary process.  Security attended all these events to maintain public order.
  • Three female students at Carseldine campus complained about being harassed by a male student. The matter is being addressed by QUT Equity.
  • A female staff member and her partner were subjected to verbal abuse and threats of being stabbed by a homeless member of the public on the Gardens Point campus. The matter was also reported to the police.
  • When a child care centre mother arrived on Gardens Point campus to collect her infant, an intoxicated homeless women tried to get into car claiming that she just been assaulted and was in danger. When the mother refused her entry to the vehicle, the homeless woman abused and threatened her. Security staff attended and resolved the situation.
  • The Dean of Business requested a security presence in B Block Gardens Point for several hours, in response to a loud domestic dispute between a male staff member and his non University wife.  
  • Two staff members at Gardens Point were involved in a loud dispute over personal property. With the assistance of attending security staff, the matter was peacefully resolved.
  • A staff member was verbally abused by a contract construction worker at Carseldine. The matter was reported to the Project Manager and the contractor was immediately removed from the campus.
  • Security was asked to be present while an emotional student was excluded from the University by the Associate Dean of Education. The Student was then escorted from Kelvin Grove campus.
  • 12 vagrants, 24 roller bladers, 177 skateboarders and 292 bicycle riders were escorted from campus, some under police caution.

Significant Events for April 2007

  • A  peaceful protest was held during the April meeting of the University Council at Gardens Point campus.
  • A male student reported the indecent behaviour of an unknown man who he discovered looking at him over the top of a partition in a toilet cubicle in the Y Block toilets at Gardens Point.  The victim did not want police involvement.
  • Security was called to escort a homeless man from the Carseldine child care centre after he was found by centre staff, asleep within the grounds, during their morning check.
  • A Smart Academy student was apprehended after breaking a fire manual call point in K Block Kelvin Grove, causing a building evacuation and the attendance of the Fire Brigade.  The Smart Academy will address the matter and the costs will be met by the offender.
  • 10 vagrants, 26 rollerbladers, 180 skateboarders and 294 cyclists were escorted from campus, some under police caution.

Significant Events for March 2007

  • QUT staff at Carseldine Campus were threatened by the estranged partner of a fellow worker. The matter has been reported to the police and Security have assisted the staff member and her colleagues with personal security concerns. 
  • QUT staff at Kelvin Grove Campus received 2 intimidating phone calls and threats from the partner of a former colleague. The matter was reported to the police but subsequently withdrawn by the staff concerned. Security have also assisted those staff with personal security concerns. 
  • Due to the aggressive behaviour of student passengers and concerns for bus driver safety, Brisbane Transport requested a Security presence at the Musk Avenue bus stop on Kelvin Grove campus for two weeks.
  • Four windows in the IHBI building at Kelvin Grove campus were damaged by projectiles. It is believed that the offenders are identical with 2 persons identified to police as having fired projectiles at workers on a nearby construction site from their balcony on an adjacent building.  The police are investigating the matter.
  • Four students were arrested on Kelvin Grove Campus for allegedly disobeying a police directive. The matter is sub judice.
  • A student protest was conducted by members of the Social Justice Collective during the Careers and Futures Fair at Gardens Point Campus. Some organisations displaying at the Fair were targeted as being war mongers. The protest was noisy but peaceful and passed without incident.
  • Members of the Australian Defence Intelligence Community, who held a separate careers information exhibition at Gardens Point campus, requested a substantial security presence as a condition of their presentation, which passed without incident.
  • A small but noisy protest passed without incident while Security contributed to a safe environment for the successful opening of the new Student Learning and Support Centre by the Governor General of the Commonwealth of Australia.
  • There was a marked increase in the numbers of thefts involving student property left unattended in the Library at Gardens Point.
  • A snake catcher was required to remove an unidentified snake from C Block, adjacent to a main thoroughfare at Carseldine campus.  The reptile was happily relocated in a mutually safer environment.
  • 24 vagrants, 17 rollerbladers, 106 skateboarders and 229 cyclists were escorted from campus, some under police caution.

Significant events for February 2007

  • Security staff were asked to assist the police locate a distressed woman, not associated with the university, who had contacted them and stated an intention to end her life. The woman was discovered wandering aimlessly on Gardens Point campus. The police were contacted and she was conveyed to hospital by ambulance.
  • A number of Mini Tellers / change machines associated with copying services were broken into at Kelvin Grove and Gardens Point. Mainly coins and low denomination notes where stolen. The police are investigating the matter.
  • A combined endeavor by Police, Parliament House Security and QUT Security resulted in the apprehension of 2 offenders wanted in relation to a spate of break and enters into motor vehicles parked in the Parliamentary and Gardens Point car parks.
  • A male person left the campus with the police after his unregistered car with drug paraphernalia visible inside and also fitted with stolen registration plates was noted in the Gardens Point short term car park.
  • Security staff found 20 discarded hypodermic syringes and associated drug paraphernalia on campus during the month.
  • Thieves broke into the Sugar Research Compound at Carseldine campus and stole equipment and tools. The police are investigating the matter.
  • Security staff presented information on Security and Emergency Procedures to over 2,453 new students, parents and partners during Orientation week.
  • 6 chromers, 13 vagrants, 22 rollerbladers, 141 skateboarders and 179 cyclists were escorted from campus, some under police caution.

Significant events for January 2007

  • A male person wilfully exposed himself to a female student in the Botanic Gardens, opposite Parliament House. The matter was referred to the police.
  • Security apprehended one of a group of four youths who, in the process of taking a forklift for a joyride, damaged a bollard between U Block and the Kidney Lawn on Gardens Point Campus.
  • A male person was disturbed by a security patrol while in the process of ransacking the Carseldine bookshop. A chase ensued during which the perpetrator escaped. However fingerprints and DNA (blood) were left behind at the scene. The police are investigating.
  • A disturbed female student who is already the subject of concern to QUT authorities subjected two staff members to degrading racial remarks. Support was provided in the workplace and the matter was reported.
  • A staff member, who left an expensive pair of shoes, clearly visible inside their motor vehicle parked on Kelvin Grove campus, had their car broken into and their shoes stolen. Nothing else was taken.
  • Security staff at Gardens Point assisted with sundry tasks behind the scenes, in shooting of the Warner Brothers feature film, “Fool’s Gold”.
  • 6 chromers, 10 vagrants, 15 rollerbladers, 83 skateboarders and 111 cyclists were escorted from campus, some under police caution.
