In accordance with QUT's health and safety policy (see A/9.1 ), managers are responsible, within the limits of their authority, for ensuring that activities within their area are undertaken with the exercise of proper diligence for the health and safety of staff, students and others. They should ensure legislative compliance and that QUT health and safety policies and procedures are applied.

Staff with a supervisory role must schedule regular visits to the workplace to ensure that staff are complying with the procedures in force within the workplace. These visits must be documented and recorded utilising the Workplace H&S observation Form. This form can also be used for unscheduled visits. Any photographs to support the observations should be sent to the CSO H&S for inclusion in the database.
