Faculties and Divisions have legislative requirements within their area of control to meet the obligations of the Workplace Health and Safety Act (1995). Refer to the Electrical Safety Regulation 2002 found at Workplace Health and Safety Queensland for further guidance. Cost Centres wishing to have their electrical equipment tested should contact a suitably qualified Electrical contractor. The QUT Workshops no longer offer an electrical testing service. The following contractors though, have satisfactorily performed testing for QUT Cost Centres over the past year:

Prior to the connection of any major equipment to QUT electrical systems, Facilities Management must be contacted and its approval obtained. Consideration has to be given to system capacity, health and safety concerns and adherence to code requirements before any such connections are made.
