When applying for a permit for either the Gardens Point or Kelvin Grove campuses, staff can apply either through the Faculty and Divisional quota or through the general pool. There is no quota allocation for Carseldine campus, all staff apply through the general pool. Parking for QUT Council Members, Shift Workers, Pre '86ers (Gardens Point only) and some Departmental Vehicles is granted outside the quota and general pool.
Faculty or Divisional Quota: Staff who wish to apply through the quota allocation will need to submit their application through their Faculty or Division. You should be aware that closing dates for submission are likely to be earlier than that advertised on the application form in order that the Faculty/Division can submit the allocation to the Parking Office by the closing date.
General Pool: After parking has been issued to the quota, Shift Workers, organisations etc, the remaining spaces are issued through the general pool. Applicants are ranked according to need and parking is offered to those applicants who demonstrate the greatest need. Students and staff compete equally for the general pool spaces at Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove Campuses. All applications must reach the Parking Office by the due date. Applications received after the due date will be considered late applications and will greatly reduce your chance of obtaining a car park.
