Infringement notices will be issued to vehicles that contravene the parking regulations. Fines for individual offences range from $37.50 to $75.00.
Payment of Infringements:
Payment of infringements can be made within 28 days of the alleged breach. You may pay your fine in one of the following ways:
- BBay;
- Credit Card by Phone or Online;
- Cheque by Mail or at an Australia Post Office; or
- Cash at an Australian Post Office, QUT Cashier or QUT Parking Office.
To take advantage of the off-campus payment options, please visit the QUTPay website and follow the prompts.
Failure to pay (or appeal) the fine within 28 days will result in a reminder notice being sent and a further $10.00 fee being added to the fine. Should the matter remain unpaid, it will then be transferred to the State Penalties Enforcement Registry (SPER) for further action and will incur further costs (minimum of $48.00).
If you feel that the issuing of the infringement was harsh or unjust you can apply for the infringement to be waived. You should be aware however that infringements are waived only in exceptional circumstances and if you have in fact parked illegally, the infringement will most likely be upheld.
