There have been some slight changes to the parking arrangements on the Kelvin Grove campus for 2008.
- A small increase in fees in order to cover costs. The University is mindful of affordability issues and has adopted a pricing regime that strikes a balance between the cost of providing and operating on site car parking and the costs of public transport
- A change in the location of B permit areas, and a small decrease in the number of spaces available.
- Additional Pay & Display Areas, available to both staff and students.
The arrangements for the Kelvin Grove campus in 2008 are summarised as follows:

Careful consideration has been given to how the SLSC car park is best used to maximum advantage and the method of operation chosen is one that will enable the cost of parking to be kept at the lowest possible level. The method is based upon the use of “Scratch Permits”. These are used widely throughout Australian universities and avoid the need for the user to have to carry change for use in Pay and Display equipment. The permits will be able to be purchased from Student Centres, Campus Bookshops, through Student Guild shops and directly from the Parking Office at Gardens Point. They are used simply by scratching panels to reveal the appropriate day, date and month details before displaying the ticket on the vehicle dashboard. Click here for a sample of the new scratch-it permits.
From 2007, students are not required to apply for a parking permit and all staff and students will have access to the expanded range of Pay & Display car parks.
All drivers should be aware that the Kelvin Grove campus is within the CBD parking area. Street parking is 2P (maximum of 2 hrs) unless it is signed otherwise and yellow kerbing or linemarking indicates a no standing zone for vehicles.
