Planned half yearly Statutory Testing of the Emergency Evacuation Lighting Systems
and Fire Doors
Emergency Evacuation Lighting
On Monday 25 June 2012 statutory testing on the Emergency Evacuation Lighting on QUT buildings will commence. The planned testing period is 27 June to 12 July 2012. Indicative dates:
Prince Charles Hospital (MERF) - Monday 25 June
Banyo Complex - Monday 25 June
ARCAA - Monday 25 June
Doggett St - Monday 25 June
Kelvin Grove - Wednesday 27 June to Tuesday 10 July
Gardens Point - Saturday 7 July to Thursday 19 July
Planned testing does not include 126 Margaret St, 44 and 88 Musk Ave.
Statutory Tests on Fire Doors
On Wednesday 27 June 2012 statutory testing on the fire doors on QUT buildings will commence. The planned testing period is Wednesday 27 June to Thursday 12 July 2012. Indicative dates:
Gardens Point - Wednesday 27 June to Thursday 5 July
Kelvin Grove - Friday 6 July to Friday 13 July
In both instances due to the procedures that must be followed and the restrictions put on the testers (e.g. by current room scheduling and the different statutory testing occuring at the same time) the dates given above are indicative only and it is possible that both sets of tests may extend beyond these dates.
Generally there will be no disruption during the lighting tests however, some buildings will lose some sections of lighting for up to 90 minutes. During the fire door testing some secure areas will need to be opened to carry out these tests.
