Internal mail is delivered and collected twice daily to all areas at each campus.
There are no special requirements or paperwork needed for the transfer of internal mail throughout the University. To ensure items are delivered promptly and correctly it is advisable for items to be clearly addressed in the following manner:
- Full Name
- Department / School / Faculty
- Building level and name and/or room number
- Campus
All boxes should be under 15kg in weight. Money and items of monetary value must not be sent through the internal mail.
External mail is delivered and collected twice daily to all areas on each campus.
All external postage must be prepared and placed in the plastic satchels/bags provided in order for it to be processed. The cost centre account code should be clearly visible. Postage not prepared in this way will not be collected by mailroom staff. If the mail does not fit in the plastic satchels/bags, then your department name & account code must be attached by another means, eg post-it note, or by rubber-banding the plastic folder to the mail, etc.
To assist the contracted mail providers in the delivery of external mail it is advisable to clearly address the items in the following manner:
- Clearly written or typed full address
- Correct cost centre return address
All boxes should be under 15kg in weight.
International Worldmail
Worldmail is to be separated from domestic mail and "airmail" should be written or stamped on the envelope. For non-document items, a list of contents must be attached to all international mail.
