The QUT mailroom can provide courier assistance within Brisbane, overnight to other states within Australia, and to any other location throughout the world.
Brisbane Metropolitan:
Local courier companies operating within Brisbane and its surrounds offer a range of services including:
- Bullet (Immediate)
- Priority (Within 2 Hours)
- Standard (Within 4 Hours)
- Taxi Trucks (Hourly Hire)
Cost centres should contact the mailroom when a courier service is required. Prior to telephoning, you will need to have the following details:
- Address of receiver
- Service required
- Account code details
- Quantity and size of parcel/s
(If parcel is a box please include dimensions)
The courier company will collect parcels from the specified departmental address or from the mailroom. Alternatively the parcel can be collected by mailroom staff during the normal mail run and the courier will then collect the parcel from the mailroom. When leaving parcels for collection during the mail run ensure that the item is clearly marked and the details (as above) are included.
Domestic:
QUT uses a nationwide courier service that offers a variety of services to suit department needs:
- Next flight (Same day delivery)
- Overnight (Next day)
- Economy (2 days)
- Off peak (3 days)
Note: Each service is calculated at different rates. Next flight services must be organised early morning. For more details contact the mailroom.
Items requiring this service must have the following information:
- Clear address
- Return address
- Account details
- Type of service required
Items will then be collected during the mail run
International:
The range of international services offered includes:
- International Worldmail
- International Express
All items can be taken to the mailroom or will be collected during the mail run. If the items are being collected during the mail run they should be kept separate from all other mail and clearly marked as described below.
International couriers are required to have a contact phone number for the receiver. This is a requirement for security reasons.
Worldmail and International Express items are collected by the contracted provider by 3:00pm daily from Monday to Friday.
International Worldmail
Worldmail is to be separated from domestic mail and "airmail" should be written or stamped on the envelope. For non-document items, a list of contents must be attached to all international mail.
International Express
This service is ideal for items that need to be overseas in 4-5 days. There are two types of International Express services provided these are:
- International Express Documents
- International World Parcel Express (non-document items)
To ensure items are processed correctly, the following information must be provided:
- Account code
- Clear address
- Contents (eg. Documents, Compact Disk)
Note: World Parcel Express is charged at a slightly higher rate. For all price enquires contact the mailroom.
The documents/parcels must be clearly marked "International Express courier" or they will be posted as International Worldmail.
