When not required for the University’s teaching programs, various facilities on Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove campuses may be booked for university functions and events and may be hired for conferences or events conducted by external organisations.
Our campuses have various facilities including flat floored classrooms, tiered lecture theatres, function rooms and external locations. To assist with the planning of larger events (e.g. O-Week, Careers Fair, Market Week, international festivals, conferences) and events which will incorporate amusement devices, there is an Event Safety & Planning Checklist and an Amusement Devices Checklist which must be completed and submitted prior to a booking being confirmed.
Audiovisual support staff can provide advice on the operation of equipment and will attend facilities to ensure proper operational use of equipment if requested. The University strongly recommends that clients who are unfamiliar with the operation of lecture theatre equipment hire the services of a technician for the minimum two hours attendance period.
