Facilities Management will arrange for the disposal of office equipment (computers, monitors, photocopiers, etc). This equipment is sent to accredited companies who either refurbish and reuse or recycle the raw material if there is no residual value.

Contact the IT Helpdesk (X4000 or ithelpdesk@qut.edu.au) and log a job for your technology support team to assist in data and equipment removal.

E-Waste is to be delivered to the appropriate storage area at either GP or KG or alternately stored at your site. To arrange for access to the E-Waste Storage areas or have E-Waste stored at your site removed by the contractor Email recycling@qut.edu.au detail what is to be disposed of, and if the item has any residual value. Facilities Management storage areas are located at:

Facilities Management staff will arrange to have the equipment collected from the storage area, PROCEDURE.

It is the responsibility of Faculties, Schools, Centres and Administrative Units to remove data from obsolete computers that are to be disposed of. These computers should also be delisted and taken off the asset register.

Note: Please remove toner cartridges from printers prior to collection and recycle separately. No equipment containing radioactive material will be accepted for recycling.
